Borusan EnBW Energy

  • Aiming to become one of the 10 largest energy generation companies in Turkey
  • Working to initiate around $2 billion worth of investments by 2020
  • Targeting to become one of Turkey’s lowest cost electricity generators by:
    - Investing in the most efficient projects
    - Establishing a portfolio that is both flexible and reliable
    - Utilizing cost cutting management methods and technologies in investments and operations

  • Participating selectively in the privatization initiatives pertaining to the energy generation sector
  • The construction of the Yedigöl hydroelectric power plant, with a total of 22.4 MW installed capacity, was completed at the end of 2011. After the temporary acceptance, the plant commenced to generate electiricty in commercial terms.
  • By December of 2011, 98% of the Aksu Hydroelectric Power Plant construction was completed, and it is scheduled to begin production during the first half of 2012.
  • Balabanlı Rüzgâr Enerjisinden Elektrik Üretim Ltd. Şti. was purchased. The Company has a generation license for a total of 50 MW installed capacity and investment for the Balabanlı project is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2012.
  • With the addition of the Balabanlı, Koru, Harmanlık and Mut projects into the existing portfolio, the wind energy generation license right increased to 200 MW.
  • Starting in 2012, Hidiv Elektrik Toptan Satış A.Ş. began to sell electricity to the Borusan Group Companies.
  • The required personnel employment has been realised for the establishment of the organization that will be needed to execute the targeted investment projects.
  • In 2011 a Management Systems Department was formed and the adaptation phase to the 6 Sigma culture was initiated across the Company
  • Company processes began to be improved as a result of the 6 Sigma and IT projects that were implemented.
  • The pace of the training that focuses on specialization in human resources was accelerated.
  • Studies were initiated in order to create added value for the region in which projects were being undertaken. Work was done with local universities in an effort to minimize the social and environmental impacts while independent international auditors were called in for an audit.
  • In keeping with the principle of our “People First” philosophy, sensitivity to the environment and the formation of trust based relations have been given priority in all energy investments.

Balabanlı, Fuat, Koru, Harmanlık and Mut projects were added to the porfolio and in total 230 MW wind generation licence right was acquired.
